How Much Does a Wedding Photographer Cost in Toronto? (2026 Guide)

How Much Does a Wedding Photographer Cost in Toronto? (2026 Guide)
by Ace Studioz October 21, 2026

It’s one of the first questions every engaged couple asks — and one of the hardest to answer with a single number. Wedding photography pricing in Toronto varies enormously, from under $1,500 to well over $10,000. So what should you actually expect to pay, and what’s behind those numbers?

I’m Janagan, a wedding photographer based in Mississauga serving Toronto and the GTA. Here’s an honest breakdown of the 2026 market — no sales pitch, just what I’ve seen across hundreds of weddings.

The short answer: typical Toronto price ranges

Most couples in Toronto and the GTA spend somewhere in these ranges for wedding photography:

  • Budget / emerging photographers: $1,500–$2,500 — often shorter coverage, smaller galleries, less experience
  • Mid-range professionals: $2,800–$5,000 — the sweet spot for most couples; full-day coverage from an experienced photographer
  • High-end / luxury studios: $6,000–$10,000+ — extensive coverage, second shooters, fine-art albums, years of experience

These are typical market ranges, not quotes — every photographer structures pricing differently. But if someone quotes far outside these bands, it’s worth understanding why.

What actually affects the price?

Hours of coverage. This is the biggest factor. Six hours for an intimate ceremony costs far less than twelve hours from morning prep to the last dance. Most Toronto couples book 8–10 hours.

A second photographer. Two shooters means your partner’s getting-ready moments, both angles of the ceremony, and cocktail hour candids all get captured simultaneously. It typically adds $500–1,500.

Experience and demand. A photographer with 200 weddings behind them charges more than someone shooting their tenth — and delivers more consistently because of it. In-demand dates (Saturdays, June–October) also book at premium rates.

Editing and delivery. Every image you receive has been individually culled and hand-edited. A 600-image gallery represents many hours of post-production — that’s baked into the price.

Albums and prints. Heirloom albums and fine-art prints are usually add-ons. Worth it — your photos deserve better than a hard drive.

Travel. Most GTA photographers include Toronto travel; Hamilton, Niagara, or destination weddings may add a travel fee.

What’s usually included in a wedding photography package?

While every photographer differs, a standard full-day package in Toronto typically includes:

  • A consultation and timeline planning help
  • 8–10 hours of wedding day coverage
  • Hundreds of hand-edited, high-resolution images
  • A private online gallery for viewing, sharing, and downloading
  • Print release for personal use

Common add-ons: engagement session, second photographer, albums, prints, extra hours.

How to compare photographers (beyond price)

The cheapest quote isn’t the best value, and the most expensive isn’t automatically the best fit. When comparing:

  1. Look at full galleries, not just highlights. Anyone can post 20 stunning images on Instagram. Ask to see 2–3 complete weddings.
  2. Check consistency. Do the getting-ready shots, ceremony, and reception all look strong — or only the golden-hour portraits?
  3. Read reviews. Google reviews from real Toronto couples tell you about reliability, not just talent.
  4. Meet them. You’ll spend your entire wedding day with this person. The consultation matters as much as the portfolio.
  5. Understand what’s included. Two quotes $1,000 apart may cover very different hours, deliverables, and rights.

Red flags to watch for

  • No contract, or vague deliverables (“lots of photos!”)
  • No backup equipment or backup plan discussed
  • Can’t show a full wedding gallery
  • Requires full payment upfront (a deposit with the balance due near the wedding is standard)
  • Prices dramatically below market with no clear explanation

How pricing works at Ace Studioz

I don’t do one-size-fits-all packages, because no two weddings are alike. After a relaxed consultation about your plans, timeline, and priorities, I’ll put together a collection tailored to your day — and give you a clear, honest quote with no hidden fees and no pressure.

If you’re planning a wedding in Toronto, Mississauga, or anywhere in the GTA, I’d love to hear about it.

Frequently asked questions

Q: When should we book our wedding photographer?

A: As soon as you have your date and venue. Popular Toronto dates book 9–12 months ahead — but always ask, since availability changes.

Q: Do we really need a second photographer?

A: For weddings over ~100 guests or with simultaneous events (both partners getting ready at different locations), yes — it’s the single biggest upgrade you can make to your coverage.

Q: Should we do an engagement session?

A: It’s the best trial run there is: you learn how your photographer directs, you get comfortable in front of the camera, and you end up with beautiful photos for invitations and your home.

Q: How long until we get our photos?

A: Turnaround varies, but most Toronto photographers deliver galleries in 4–12 weeks. Ask upfront so expectations are clear.
